ABOUT THE COURSE
Foundations: Handbuilding (4 Weeks)
Learn practical and theoretical principals of ceramics with us in a fun hands-on way.
Our Ceramic Design Course will give you a solid introduction to all the core ceramic techniques and materials. Plus tremendous amount of fun working with clay. Learn an ancient craft while discovering ways to integrate it into contemporary design fields, which could be anything from jewellery to tableware, interior objects and art pieces.

4 Group Classes:
DAY 1 – Hand-Building and Ceramic Design
Current session will be devoted to techniques of working with clay. You will get introduced to qualities and capabilities of clay and create your first ceramic piece.

DAY 2 – Slab-Building
This technique is incredibly useful if not to say essential for creating ceramic vessels of numerous shapes and functions and adding a new dimension to your work. In this session you will try it out, learn different tips and trick on handling the clay with this approach.

DAY 3 – Sculpture
Current session will be devoted to Sculptural work with clay. Ceramics as a medium goes far beyond functional tableware and this class will allow you to explore the techniques that could take you to the next level of 3-dimensional expression.

DAY 4 – Raw Glazing, Textures, Natural Glazes & Engobes.
Glazes, the queens of gloss, stains & texture are the best way to spice it up! You will learn how to create stunning and experimental glass-platings on your clay objects.

On top of that, each of the participants will be offered:
-Inspiring & useful handouts to make sure that through this course you confidently step into whatever you were dreaming about making.

-Personal consultation time with the course holder (to make sure you successfully advance with your project and know exactly, what is the next craftsmanship step towards a splendid result).

For further firings after the Ceramic Design Course, you can join the Clay Salon- Home Membership or Open Studio Sessions

The workshop is suitable for both, prior participants of Ceramic Workshops and complete beginners, no prior experience with ceramics is required.
